There are several very nice introductions available online (see Further Resources), but this guide takes a slightly different approach to introducing R. Although some pages will be written in tutorial-like fashion, other hand-chosen, user-contributed "recipes" from the site will be added over time to support the topics that the community believes necessary to efficiently and effectively learn R. By providing you working examples that you can review and manipulate, we hope that you will better understand concepts that you may only read about elsewhere.
This is a work in progress and your comments and help adding to it would be greatly appreciated. You can do so by leaving messages in the comments section of these pages or by posting on the Guides forum.
